MiniTec writes the book on machine framing systems

Basingstoke UK, July 2009: MiniTec UK has compiled and written a reference guide on machine framing system design and applications. The pocket-sized 72-page hard copy book entitled ‘Profile Systems for Mechanical Engineering’ covers a diversity of useful information from materials analysis and structural design considerations to time and cost benefits for extruded aluminium systems versus traditional steel fabrication.

As profile systems and associated machine building components from several manufacturers evolve to become the preferred building technique for modern production, test and assembly equipment, the choice for the designer becomes ever more complex. Profile Systems for Mechanical Engineering takes a broad view to help machine builders make considered decisions about materials selection, structural design, adaptability of profile systems, application diversity, fastening technologies and design software.

An ‘Applications’ section covers some real case examples in different fields of mechanical engineering where MiniTec’s own Profile System has returned considerably shortened design and assembly times, helping OEMs and system builders to realise faster time to market, reduced development costs for fully modular and easily scaled machine designs.

The complimentary book is available from MiniTec UK Limited on request.

MiniTec’s Profile System range of aluminium and stainless steel machine framing and construction components is well known to machine builders and systems integrators – with the maxim to ‘save time’ in design, purchase and assembly - the range is backed by comprehensive on-line and off-line CAD support and uses the super fast Powerlock® fastener system that allows rapid profile assembly.

Used for machine framing, machine guards, workbenches, conveyors, parts handling machinery, automated manufacturing, assembly and test equipment, the modular and flexible Profile System includes a complete range of related components including Linear System linear motion components to make machine building faster and easier including wheels, supports, hinges, doors, panels, conveyors, specialised electrical & pneumatic equipment, motors, drives, and motion controls.
